DIY Mini Organic Body Butter Lotion Bars

I have to say that after making homemade body butter, I am addicted to this lotion!  I can feel it working all day long.  I never have the need to reapply or feel like its too greasy {only when you first apply the lotion will it have an oily feeling but then it soaks in}.  It is now my go to lotion!

Ingredients:
  • 3/4 C or 6 oz Coconut Oil  (Where to buy)*
  • 1/4 C or 2 oz Cocoa Butter  (Where to buy)
  • 6-8 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil {or fragrance of your choice}– use therapeutic grade oils if possible.  They are safe for topical use. (Where to buy)
  • Silicone mold
  • Squeeze bottle
*The "where to buy"  links provide you with the information on the products I use to make this lotion and many other DIY home & body products.

Directions:
  • In a double boiler, melt both the coconut oil and cocoa butter.  Once oils are melted, remove from heat and stir in tea tree oil

  • Pour liquid into the squeeze bottle

  • Then carefully squeeze liquid into each mold {filling liquid to the top}

  • Either refrigerate for approx. one hour or  place in freezer for 20-30 minutes until liquid becomes opaque.

Some other fragrance ideas would be peppermint, cinnamon, lavender, citrus, vanilla, coconut, eucalyptus… the possibilities are endless!
