I saw this type of feature on a few other blogs and absolutely loved the idea of celebrating Dads. I know that we are very busy being dad and we sometimes forget about ourselves. So, I would like to take the opportunity to honor you as the Super Man you are & as a father.
I created Dad's Minute to introduce the world to the man behind it all. Because you are an amazing person, not just a dad!
So it is my pleasure to introduce...Darren
Tell us a little about yourself.
I'm a fresh out of the box Dad with not a clue what I'm doing and hoping I don't mess up too bad. My goal is provide an environment where my boy grow organically into the person he is meant to be.
What is your favorite food?
Norwegian Lobster. My father ordered it on a holiday to France when I was about 4. I had a taste and subsequently finished his meal. I look for it everywhere we go now! I love the process of ripping off the heads and having to crack into the tail to gain access to the meaty fishy heaven.
How would you describe your clothing style
As long as its not too dirty and it still fits, then it fair game. So safe to say I have no style, much to my wife's dismay.
What was one thing you did regularly before having children?
Sleep! Ha.. Too easy of an answer. Ok I was a keen skydiver. That's actually where I met my wife. I took her skydiving for the first time. Doesn't happen anymore.
Describe your parenting Style...ie strict, structured, laid back, easy going
How strict can you be a 6 month old? I'm full of ideals on how I'd like to be. I believe in the saying 'Everything in moderation.......including moderation' I'm very conscious of the long-term impact on too much screen time causing attention problems in our kids. However I think there is no harm in making an event of watching a movie together as a family. Just not endless hours on an iPad.
Tell us about a proud daddy moment.
Honestly I'm at the stage where he is learning everything new. So I'm a proud daddy when he succeeds at doing anything for the first time, whether that's getting a toe in his mouth, or like the last day I caught him rolling over for the first time.. I was jumping up and down with pride!!

The never ending fear and worry. I need to check in on him if he seems to be sleeping longer than usual...Just in case! I don't know, maybe is just first time Dad stuff. It's probably silly to a parenting veteran but I can't help it!
What is something that you have learned from your children?
I have learned what it's like to revel in the pure simple things in life. Conversations, games, spending time in nature without the need to take a selfie and post it on social media.
Thank you so much Darren for sharing! Your son is adorable and the fear you have as a parent will NEVER go away.
