DIY Grapefruit Sea Salt Body Scrub

Sea salt body scrubs are such a wonderful thing! They can help exfoliate, clean, and moisturize your body. This easy and nourishing recipe contains sea salt, Epsom salt, coconut oil and essential oil. That’s it! And your skin will love it!

A simple sea salt body scrub is made up of 2 basic ingredients: salt and a good moisturizer.

Why These Ingredients?
Coconut Oil: Moisturizes and protects skin. Salt can be a little drying to the skin, so the coconut oil helps counteract that effect.
Sea Salt: Exfoliates and draws toxins out of skin.
Epsom Salts: Exfoliates and adds important minerals that occur naturally in sea water {magnesium and sulfur}.
Essential Oils: For scent and aromatherapy. Grapefruit essential oil is bright and uplifting and may help with cellulite reduction.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup fine Sea Salt
  • 1/2 cup Epsom Salt
  • 1/2 cup Oil Coconut Oil
  • 5 - 15 drops Essential Oil (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried rose petals

Directions

1. Put coconut oil in a medium mixing bowl. If your oil is on the stiff side, stir or mash it until the oil is soft enough for mixing.

2. Add sea salt and Epsom salts. Stir until blended.

3. Add food coloring, if desired. I added a couple drops of red.

4. Add essential oils and dried rose petals {if you'd like}. Stir again until all ingredients are well blended.

Massage gently into skin, then rinse off with warm water. Use as an all over body scrub to exfoliate and moisturize, about 1-2 times weekly.
