During the summer months my
kids go through A LOT of crayons, especially my 20 month old. But, rather than her using the crayons until
they are too small to use, she drops her crayons from her high chair and they
end up in a thousand little unusable pieces.
I found myself with a baggie of little broken crayon.
So, I decided to go through
our crayon container and pull out all the broken crayons and melt them down to
make new reusable crayons.
WHAT YOU NEED:
· Broken crayons
· Chocolate mold of any shape and size
Peel the paper off of all
of the crayons. This is the most labor intensive part of the project. Then
match up similar colors. You will need the equivalent to a few full size
crayons. Place cupcake wrappers on a microwave safe plate.
Melt the crayons in the
microwave until completely liquid – it took 5+ minutes to completely melt all
of the crayons.
Pour into your chocolate
mold
Let sit until cool
Pop out of mold & begin
coloring
Happy Coloring!
